The first living lesson…. thank you for the reminder and pointing this out. I seek all these others things…. we do all these other things for ourselves and even for God but where is my prayer life?

I spend time practicing things like Golf or guitar or work….. but why am I not practicing and exercising a prayer life with God, the father of our Lord & Savior? Wouldn’t and shouldnt this trump all these others things I mentioned? Just think of the change that He could make in my life with a fervent prayer life. How would He change my thoughts and desirs and passions?

Thats what struck me today as I listened to your living lessons and how rediculous or backwards my priorities are. But even more so…. I spend time practicing all this other stuff that really, in the end, does me no good for eternal things where a fervent Prayer life…. and growing closer to Him through prayer and reading His word….what an impact
that could make on me as a person and who knows…. maybe all that stuff I seem to practice at will come all that much easier when Im aligned with God 🙂

I too must make sure my prayer life is elevated to top priority. But remember, we pray to Him as a way of giving Him honor and glory. We pray so that we can grow in the image of Christ.

And too, what impact will praying have on those around us? Those we pray for. How many more will be saved? And those whom our lives touch as we’ve grown closer to the Lord through prayer, worship, reading the Word, and thus having matured in Him. They’ll see God in us. God will be glorified, and more will come to saving faith!

I LOVED this sermon. Such POWER God gave Terry’s words. Truly convicted my heart too! “Open the eyes of my heart Lord! I want to see you!!”

p.s. I agree! Prayer is definitely a discipline we need to be deliberate about developing… or it won’t develop. I know that first hand too!

Got something to say?
